This year for Art Dubai Rossi & Rossi present a solo show of new works by Naiza H. Khan. The Manoura Project:Restore the Boundaries will consist of a group of works in a mixture of watercolor, drawing, and both new and traditional print techniques, complimented by a video installation, black and white photographs, prints and a series of sculptures.

Over the course of two years Khan has documented Manora, a peninsula that divides the port of Karachi from the Arabian Sea. Historically a crucial vantage point, once occupied by Alexander the Great, it was in later centuries subsumed by both the Ottoman and British Empires. Though few traces of this history remain, Khan has observed a new sort of conquest, as the buildings of a humble seaside retreat are left to crumble while high-rise tourist hotels are built all around.
