Gonkar Gyatso at 53rd Venice Biennale

Gonkar Gyatso's participation in the 2009 Venice Biennale was a timely recognition of the importance and relevance of his art. Daniel Birnbaum, Director of the Biennale, wrote in his letter of invitation: "In my view your work will be one of the central contributions to the exhibition and perfectly fits the theme of my show, Fare Mondi/Making Worlds …".
